Privately run as a tourist resort until it was purchased by the state of New York in 1906, the spellbinding Watkins Glen State Park can be reached with a short drive into Upstate New York. A stream cut a gorge cut through rock over thousands of years. The result is 19 waterfalls and cliffs up to 200-feet tall within two miles, making it almost impossible not to capture an amazing snapshot once you’re inside the park.
